Information for patients
In this section you will find basic instructions, that you have to follow to obtain accurate results when conducting your clinical tests.
Complete blood count – the test is conducting in the morning (preferably 7.00 AM – 9.00 AM) after fasting, including without intake of coffee.
Urine analysis (general chemical analysis and sediment) – explores middle portion of the first morning urine which is collected in chemically clean containers, after careful local genital toilet.
Calcium, phosphorus in 24-hour urine – urine collection starts in the morning (7:00 to 7:30). Eject the first portion of urine (it is not necessary for the study). Each subsequent portion is collected in a pre-washed container suitable for determining the total quantity of urine (e.g. bottle of 2 liters). At the beginning a preservative is added in the urine. After each addition of urine shake well and store in a cool place and protected from direct sun light. The collection of urine ends with the addition of first urine portion in the morning (7:00 – 7:30). Determine the total quantity of urine for 24 hours. The laboratory earned 50-100 ml of total.
Glucose (blood sugar) – the test is conducting in the morning (preferably 7.00 AM – 9.00 AM) after fasting, including without intake of coffee.
Oral glucose tolerance test – three days before the test, the patient consumes a mixed diet with at least 150 gr carbohydrates daily. If the patient is taking medications that affect carbohydrate metabolism, their intake should be discontinued for a period of 3 days before the test. The test is carried out under a scheme, prescribed by your doctor.
Blood glucose profile – you don’t fast, don’t stop your treatment, and don’t alter your normal daily routine. The test is carried out under a scheme prescribed by your doctor.
Lipid status – the test is conducted in the morning on an empty stomach after 12-hours fasting. 2-3 days before testing patient takes a low-fat food. If taking drugs that affect lipid metabolism, their intake should be discontinued for a period of 2 weeks before the study.
Thyroid hormones – the test is conducted in the morning without taking coffee or other caffeine containing substances and without medications before blood donation.
Reproductive hormones – the test is conducted in the morning under a scheme depending on the phase of menstrual cycle. Without hormonal drug administration before taking blood.
Sterile urine – have to be investigated first morning urine as it is collected in special sterile containers.
